Amanda Telford is a Registered Social Worker with a Masters in Social Work from Carleton University. Amanda is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and adheres to professional standards laid out by the College.
Amanda has worked in a variety of settings and areas during her career, including child welfare, homeless shelters, community and hospital based mental health programs, and private practice. She has also served on the board of directors for Children at Risk, Gloucester Association for Children with Special Needs, Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre, and Interval House.
Amanda works with children, youth, and adults experiencing difficulties related to, but not limited to:
-depression and anxiety
-borderline personality disorders
-alcohol and drug use
-autism spectrum disorder/developmental disorders/systems navigation
Amanda is committed to ongoing professional development and has been trained in cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, emotionally focused therapy, solution focused therapy, and interpersonal therapy. Amanda is also the mother of two young adults, one of whom is differently abled, speaks with signs and pictures, and lives happily with autism.
